“Again, Again, read it again grandma”, says my little ones, Asia and Axel.
(My grandbabies favorite book)
Laura Veasey Williams is a native of Dickinson, Texas- -a small town on the outskirts of Houston. She is a graduate of Wiley College, the home of “the great debaters,” with Denzel Washington in the rolling hills of Marshall, Texas. (She is in the movie.) After acquiring a BA in music, she goes on later to Prairie View A&M University for an MEd in counseling and guidance. She also had additional studies at North Texas in Denton, Texas. These credentials allowed her an interesting and fulfilling fifty-plus-year career in education. Seeing the world through the eyes of young people (K-12), staying abreast to assist in their dreams, and burning to motivate and fuel their lives caused her a five-time retirement or return to education. She also spent two years at Texas Southern University with a government program, assisting children with reading difficulties. Wow, what a journey. She has represented educators on planning committees for the City of Dickinson. She is a member of the original board for Dickinson Beautiful and served several years on the board of directors for Sickle Cell Anemia in the eighties. She was a career education instructor while living in Marshall, Texas, where she taught for many years. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Ms. Williams is a member of Dickinson First United Methodist. She sings in the chancel choir and believes that there is nothing more beautiful than music in any culture—a succession of tones that heals and calms the body and soul. This is her second book. Her first, Born and Not Wanted, is a story very dear to her heart, regarding the upbringing, struggles, and successes of a very godly woman-her mother. She presently lives alone at 85 years young and credits her son, Dr. A. Kirk Williams, Baylor Med, and her wonderful grandsons Kirk II, University of St. Thomas, Austin, Rice Baylor Med, Alexander, Northeastern University-Boston, and Adam, Carnegie Mellon-Philadelphia, along with the blessings of the Almighty for her youthfulness.
Not done yet, Dr. Kirk and Adriana gave me my precious little ones, Axel Kirk, and Asia Kai.
This is my sister and she is the illustrator of the book“THE LEAVES IN THE BREEZE”
